Can be categorized into two Types: Primary (Essential) and Secondary. The condition affects the body’s arteries. Untreated, can cause heart disease and related complications such as heart attack, stroke, and heart failure and chronic kidney failure.

Causes of Hypertension: 

  • Essential Hypertension
  • Secondary Hypertension
  • Diabetes
  • Kidney Problems- CKD
  • Overweight/Obesity and Sleep Apnea
  • Thyroid or adrenal issues
  • High salt intake or salt sensitivity
  • Environment- poor diet
  • Stress

Symptoms:

  • None- most common not to show symptoms
  • Severe headache
  • Shortness of breath
  • Nosebleeds
  • Severe anxiety
  • Feeling of pulsation in the neck or head.
